“PHOTO TOUR” vs “WORKSHOP”
“Photo Tours” generally encompass tours that are really geared to spending as much time in the field shooting in beautiful locations, while trying to catch the best light.
A “workshop” generally includes more theory and technical instruction than the photo tour. In fact, though they may be for beginners through advanced photographers, workshops may include little to no field time.
Aiste Photo Tours involve a bit of both worlds. You will spend most of your time in the field and will be offered the theory of a workshop together with the hands on practice of technical assistance. On the request you can expect some combination of instruction on post processing techniques, which can be provided after the tour in one of the local cafes in town.
The majority of tours cater from a solo visitor to a small group of 2-4 people. Groups of 4 or more people can be catered upon the specific request.
Photographic opportunities are unpredictable. That is why there is a major level of flexibility on offer, so that you can make use of any opportunities that arise. The start times are completely flexible, however if you would like to catch the best light, it would be advisable to start just before the sunrise or around the sunset. You could also utilize your late evening for an astro photography session (from late Feb to early Nov).
Please note that tours are weather dependent and winter operation could be limited for some of the locations. Should the trip not go ahead due to unsuitable weather conditions, your cost of the tour will be fully refunded.
half day vs full day photography tour/workshop
FULL DAY TOUR
(allow approx. 8 hours, from $300 pp)
The full day tour is suited to anyone who is looking to photograph a range of different locations and see the sights of Queenstown at the same time. To get the most out of the experience, sharpen your skills and maximize your time on the technical guidance such as DSLR camera settings, composition, post editing, etc. it would be advisable to book this popular full day photography tour including multiple locations. You will be guided throughout the trip by your local photographer and provided constant tutoring in between traveling and while you are photographing. You can expect to learn about the creative composition parts, as well as post editing tips. And the tutoring is completely tailored to everyone’s level, so that the tours are perfectly suitable from an absolute beginner to advanced photographer and anything in between. A full day photography tour/workshop is a great, relaxed and fun learning experience. After this photographic experience you will surely be fully loaded with amazing images and memories.

HALF DAY TOUR
